The IOP/KCL (http://www.iop.kcl.ac.uk/) is the largest academic community in Europe devoted to studying psychiatric disorders (including ASD); with access to nearly 30,000 outpatients in ongoing care. The IOP at King's College London is one of England's oldest and most prestigious university institutions: a multi-faculty research-led university college based in the heart of London with over 19,700 students, of whom more than 6,200 are postgraduates. It is ranked as one of the world's top 25 universities. The Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, is one of the world?s leading centres for psychiatric research and hosts the largest critical mass of psychiatric researchers (>1,000 students and staff) outside of the US. We lead large scale ongoing studies of ASD twins, and infants. The IOP/KCL is equipped with state-of the art genetics, imaging (1.5T and 3T dedicated MR, and a 7T animal scanner) and human experimental research facilities (including PET and infant imaging). We also have other ongoing projects of direct relevance to this project, and that will allow us to cost effectively enhance this project. The PI Prof. Murphy (IOP/KCL) leads the MRC (UK) funded multicentre study of brain "connectivity" in ASD, and a UK clinical trial network in ASD (funder National Institute of Health Research). Other EU funded initiatives that are complimentary to this program include NewMeds and NeuroIMAGE, and EU biobank initiatives in prodromal schizophrenia (FP7 EU-GEI) and pharmacogenomic analysis in clinical trials of antipyschotics (FP7 OPTiMiSE). The Institute of Psychiatry has been a leader in stem cells, psychiatric genetics, clinical assessment, and imaging and therefore will be taking a lead in these aspects of the IMI project
