The Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre (RUNMC) and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour is a leading Dutch institute for medical research. Karakter Child and Adolescent Psychiatry University Centre, and the Departments of Cognitive Neuroscience is specialized in top-level clinical care and research in neuropsychiatric disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and Conduct Disorder over the lifespan. We have full access to all facilities of the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (www.fcdonders.nl) which include 1.5, 3 and 7T scanners, and a mock scanner, and have full access to all facilities of the Department of Genetics. The Nijmegen outpatient clinics have about 600 new child and adolescent patients and 80 new adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders per year.

Prof. Jan Buitelaar, (child and adolescent) psychiatrist, has been involved in many multi-site international medication trials and NIH sponsored projects on the genetics of ADHD and on gene-by environment interactions in an Autism Birth Cohort. Jan Buitelaar has been Principal Investigator of several large-scale national research projects, such as a screening study for Autism Spectrum Disorder in over 30,000 infants. He is the Principal Investigator of the Pediatric European Risperidone Study (PERS) and of the Translational Adolescent and Childhood Therapeutic Interventions in Compulsive Syndromes project (TACTICS) both funded by FP7, and of the NeuroIMAGE study. He further leads work packages in two other FP funded projects (ADDUCE and STOP), is the co-chair of the ECNP pediatric psychopharmacology network and leads several current brain imaging studies in autism, ADHD, and Conduct Disorder. He is editor in chief of European Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
